Use Your Study For Meditation And Relaxation

If you are a college professor and feel burnt out due to all the work that you have been completing with your class and the extensive amount of paperwork that needs to be graded on a daily basis and would like to create a warm, cozy oasis inside of your home's study, use the tips below to help you set up the perfect spot to meditate and relax during times that you are not teaching.

Set Up An Electric Fireplace And Comfortable Furnishings

A realistic electric fireplace looks like a real fireplace, but differs in that one can be moved to various parts of a room whenever desired, will not require real kindling, and does not need to be cleaned after each use. Purchase an electric fireplace that can be mounted to a wall or displayed in the corner of your study.  

After setting up the fireplace, plug its cord into an electrical outlet. You can adjust the thermostat on your unit so that the heat intensity that is produced is stronger or weaker. Place some comfortable furnishings around the fireplace so that you can lay down or sit while watching the flickering flames or feeling the warmth that is emitted.                       

Purchase An Oil Burner And Tranquil Recordings

Purchase an oil burner and an aromatic herbal oil. Pour a small amount of the oil into the burner's reservoir and light your burner's wick. Herbal oils can help relax you and make troubling issues seem less burdensome. If you purchase an oil variety that reminds you of a special place or event that occurred in your life, let your mind wander while enjoying the scent and pretend that you have taken a step back in time.

If you are unsure of which type of oil to purchase, sample several varieties and inquire about specific types before purchasing one from a supplier. Pair the scented oil with tranquil recordings that help reduce tension. A favorite song or the sound of ocean waves can help alleviate stress and promote a sense of well-being.

Sip Warm Tea Or Cocoa While Watching A Lighthearted Video            

Prepare some tea or cocoa and pour it into your favorite mug before retreating into your study. Turn on the fireplace and a television set so that you remain warm and comfortable while watching a lighthearted video that will help take your mind off of work duties.

Choose new movies or shows to watch on a frequent basis and get into the habit of setting aside a day or night each week to watch one of the videos so that you can relax and recharge your mind.
